How often to change your oil
Engine oil keeps the moving parts inside your engine from wearing each other down.
We recommend changing your oil and filter every 6 months. Your owner's manual or the maker's maintenance schedule may call for sooner, so check it too. Most newer cars also have an oil monitoring system that tracks your driving and tells you when a change is due.1
